International Asteroid Day 2024

Every year annually on 30 June, International Asteroid Day is celebrated to raise public awareness about the asteroid impact hazard. It is celebrated in order to “observe each year at the international level the anniversary of the Tunguska impact over Siberia, Russian Federation, on 30 June 1908.
Asteroid Day was co-founded in 2014, Asteroid Day was co-founded in 2014, by Dr. Brian May, astrophysicist and lead guitarist of QUEEN, together with Danica Remy, President of B612 Foundation, Rusty Schweickart, Apollo 9 Astronaut, and filmmaker Grig Richters. In December 2016 the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/71/90, declaring 30 June as International Asteroid Day in of awareness and education about asteroids. Together with the United Nations, space agencies, schools, and universities Asteroid Day is organized by networks of supporters who host events worldwide on 30, June. (For more info. International Asteroid Day 2024 Event:
The Asteroid Foundation returns with Asteroid Day LIVE Digital from Luxembourg. This year, the event is a fully digital celebration of asteroid science and exploration. Panel discussions and one-on-one interviews with astronauts and world experts will be broadcast on 30 June 2020. Asteroid Day LIVE is streaming over Asteroid Day TV and the detailed program schedule can be found on the Asteroid Day website. Asteroid Day LIVE Digital from Luxembourg is a five-hour program with panel discussions including:
