Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities regardless of affiliations in the Hindu pantheon. He is also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. Lord Ganesha is the god of beginnings, he is worshipped on many religious and secular occasions, especially at the beginning of ventures such as buying a vehicle or starting a business.

Ganesh Chaturthi or  Vinayaka Chaturthi is the famous festival celebrated all across India and outside India celebrating the arrival of Ganesh to earth from Kailash Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati/Gauri in the month of Bhadrapada. It is marked with the installation of Ganesh clay idols privately in homes, or publicly. The festival ends on the tenth day after start, when the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or sea. During these ten days, Lord Ganesha is worshiped with full of joy and happiness chanting of Vedic hymns and Hindu texts such as prayers and brata, offerings prasadam such as modaka. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesh as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence and is observed throughout India.
