The flag is one of the most important patriotic symbols for a country and every country has its unique symbols, which has it also has a rich history behind it. Every year, on 20^th June, Argentina celebrates Day of the National Flag (Spanish: Día de la Bandera Nacional), to the commemoration of its creator, Manuel Belgrano. It is the holiday dedicated to the Argentine flag. Date June 20 is selected to celebrate National Flag Day because, on the date, the anniversary of Belgrano’s death falls. Belgrano died of dropsy on 20 June 1820.

About Argentine Flag:

The flag of Argentina is a triband, composed of three equally wide horizontal bands colored light blue and white and yellow Sun in the center.  The flag was created by Manuel Belgrano, in line with the creation of the Cockade of Argentina, and was first raised at the city of Rosario on February 27, 1812, during the Argentine War of Independence. The full flag featuring the sun is called the Official Ceremonial Flag (Spanish: Bandera Oficial de Ceremonia). The flag without the sun is considered the Ornamental Flag (Spanish: Bandera de Ornato).
